My sister loves her Memories book
February 11, 2008 on 5:33 am | In News, Testimonials | No CommentsMy sister has received her Memories book and loves it.
She said it made her cry before she’s even filled any of it in. Also she was thrilled with the archive pen.
So many thanks again.

The mummy diaries
November 20, 2007 on 4:33 am | In News | No CommentsThe bond between a mother and her child is an extraordinary one. But what happens when that bond is broken by the premature death of the mother? Ground-breaking three-part series The Mummy Diaries follows five ordinary families who face the unthinkable – a life without Mum.
It’s a wonderful although heartbreaking series and I’m really proud that my Little Boxes of Big Thoughts are used during the process to help some of the mothers write down their thoughts to leave for their children.
Here’s a quote from Dawn Hughes, one of the mum’s featured:
“There are these cards she gives you to fill in,’ says Dawn. ‘”I love you because…”, “When I’m not with you I miss you because…” You know, if you’re not here, that physical side that tells your kids you love them disappears. You can’t hug them. The memory boxes are a way of passing on your love. It’s an opportunity, as hard as it sounds.”
And, as stated on the Channel 4 website, ‘it will be a unique and permanent reminder for your child that you and they share a secure and loving relationship, no matter what.’
Of course, our Little Boxes of Big Thoughts can be used by anyone to create meaningful memories of important relationships. I created them initially to make sure my mum and dad knew how much I loved them, but they are just as suitable for partners, friends and children - imagine how precious they could be to a teenager going through those ‘difficult’ years….
Will your stories fade away?
July 3, 2007 on 7:57 am | In News, Special Offers | No CommentsHave you thought about the pen you plan to use to complete your Memories book?
Will the ink in it last 50-100 years or more before fading?
We have all probably tried to read writing that has faded and you would be amazed how fast the ink in a typical ball-point pen fades over a period of just 30 years! So we have found some acid free pens which are guaranteed to last at least 100 years. These archive quality pens are double ended, with a fine tip (0.5mm) and a bullet tip (1.2mm). They normally retail at up to £2.50 but, if you buy one to use with your memories book, will cost you only £1.50 -with FREE p&p. Continue reading Will your stories fade away?…

A selection of unsolicited email comments…
April 17, 2007 on 1:58 pm | In News, Testimonials | No CommentsI think the books are a brilliant idea and I cant wait to give them to my parents to unlock all their memories. Unfortunately, like you I’m too late for my grandparents but I wont let that happen with my parents, partner and myself! Linda
We all think that your books are a fantastic idea – much easier for relatives to answer questions and write things down in their own time. I was going to just order the ‘parent’ book for my husband and I to fill in, and put it with my family history research to hand down to our son, but then I thought it would be a good idea for his parents and my Dad to fill in books too. It really is a great product and with family history becoming increasingly popular, I’m sure you’ll do really well. Mandy Continue reading A selection of unsolicited email comments……
